The irony here is that I myself used to complain about NSFW posts on this board YEARS ago when I used to browse the forum from work. This is nothing new. The difference is it was posted anywhere and everywhere without any warning whatsoever. Boner Joe was notorious for posting that on really stupid threads just to be a huge speed bump and the more you complained about it, the more disgusting the images got. My only complaint then was the lack of warning in thread titles or links. I was rebutted then along with a number of people who agreed with me. The answer? It's the fucking Free Talk Live forums, dude! *shrug*

1.  You can ignore any users simply by pressing the "ignore" button underneath their name & info.

But you can't ignore mods, and it only works for people who are logged in.

I just woke up and was a mod one day. Not that long ago. I don't know how it happened. I think I may have gotten bitten by a werewolf.

I haven't even read the TOS. I'm sure they're pretty common sense. After all, I've apparently managed not to violate them too badly for about 7 or so years now or I probably wouldn't be a mod. I can't recall using my special mod powers even once--no, I didn't change anyone's name. With great power comes great responsibility and all that stuph.

Simple stuph is not complicated, however much people try to make it so.

Those were responses to you when you were acting a lot like a troll. You are not "new people". You presume that anyone gives a shit if trolls stick around. If you're not a troll, that's great. See, if you guys get your way, you'll cultivate an environment that will attract more social conservatives who like to toss around the libertarian buzz-word. I don't want that. I want people who don't flinch at a nekkid butt, for crying out loud, that is tactfully placed in an appropriate thread that you don't have to read if you don't want to. See that's the cool thing about liberty is doing what you want as long as you don't infringe on the liberty of others. Social conservatives only give lip service to the idea of liberty. They don't live it and I have no intention of bending over backwards to attract them or to keep them here. And if the exact opposite happens, even better.

A couple of clearly-marked threads with some edgy content is actually a good litmus test, IMHO.

I created an account, made a suggestion, and when that failed, attempted to ignore you to solve the problem. That doesn't work, because trolls can't be ignored if they are modtrolls.

As much as you want this to be about your posts containing gay porn it isn't. The MAJORITY of NSFW that appears in recent posts just happens to be "gay" porn. If you were spamming straight porn it'd be just as bothersome. It's XXX man. I'm not here to look at porn. If I was though, having a private NSFW thread would still allow me to do so, unlike this pornless void you try to portray my idea leading to.

No ones forcing you to use the feature that specifically DOESN'T FILTER ANYTHING. Why are you choosing to use that? I told you how to filter all but posts you haven't read. One thing I left out, which I thought was obvious, but just in case--click the little "new" button and it will jump you to the oldest message in the thread you haven't read yet. That will allow you to self-filter the threads you don't want to see. You know, like the ones that have "NSFW" or "butts" or "breasts" in the title.

Your suggestion: Whole lotta work for me to do to because YOU are fuckin up the recent posts thing with porn spam. Doesn't solve the problem of new users getting an eyefull if they stumble across the message board with the recent posts. Doesn't do anything unless I am logged in which seems to randomly happen when I return to check stuff meaning, again: whole lotta work for me to look at a few new messages. Means I gotta log in if I am doing this at work/school which I'd rather not.

My suggestion: Not much work to implement; probably would have been done and over with in the time you've put into bitching about my suggestion. Fixes all the bs I mentioned. Let's EVERYONE avoid freaky shit if they choose to use recent posts. Doesn't hamper your posting in any way; let's you fly your freak flag all you want. Provides other incentives such as: Letting selected posters be more open about topics they choose, allows for more discussion in areas like bud growing, guns, black market shit. Gives users a choice if they want to see your nasty ass posts (since even registered users can't ignore you.)


You asked WHY I use that? Why wouldn't anyone? It's a great fucking feature.
Recent posts = don't have to log in from work/school comp.
Recent posts = doesn't need to jump through bs hoops; way less fucking clicking to see what's new.
Recent posts = lets you cut out avatars w/o having to log in
Recent posts = ultimate lazy message board reader.   
Recent posts = awesome except for NSFW.

Your claim that I am not forced to use that link is horseshit. I don't have to use it, but your actions force me to avoid using it. If roles were reversed. If I was a mod, and you were a new user. Re-read my posts. Rather than click through a half dozen sections and then skim through dozens of threads to see if there is new material (and while doing that also making sure to avoid content that might offend), I make use of the "Recent Posts" link on the bottom left side of the main page. It lets anyone see the  top trending topics and then quickly and easily see the last ten pages worth of recent posts without having to go sloggin through the site. Recent posts is an awesome way to browse all the new content posted, unless you don't like wading through NSFW to use it. My suggestion would allow the NSFW posting to continue, while keeping it out of a valuable link on the site. It wouldn't be a big deal to implement for the mods/admins either (It's been done on a number of message board's I've frequented in the past).

You right dog, you right. You said Recent Posts and I heard Recent Topics, my bad. Still Recent Topics is essentially what you're looking for, I mean it lists the threads that are popular, of course you'll have to put in the huge of effort of clicking through each topic that piques your interests in order to find out why someone would bother to post in it. The other option is for you to turn off images in your browser so you don't have to worry about any offensive images coming up.
