I've heard that too but have they done a recent study? Consider how much things have changed in all the ways the article describes and in a relatively short time frame. I'm very skeptical of whether that's still true. And if you're going to get married based on data like that, I would think you have to take into consideration the odds of divorce (about 50%?) and how much it sucks for the guy when it happens. Any idea whether a guy lives longer or shorter depending on whether he's an indentured servant to a previous marriage? Most divorces are initiated by the woman as I understand, and it's not surprising considering how one-sided divorce tends to be.
