My dad got a cellphone ticket $80 a few months ago, he had a phone in the car, but it didn't have a phone plan. He keeps a cheap one in the glove box as a backup phone since you don't need a phone plan to make calls to emergency numbers.

The police here in NY randomly select people to ticket for cellphone use and it doesn't matter if you were using one or not.

He ended up paying it as there is no way to get a ticket dropped. about 2 years ago he got a parking ticket for parking at an expired meter. Even though he has an assigned parking spot in the work place parking lot. The issue is that in cases of tickets, it is your work against the police officers word and their word is worth more.

Also car insurance sucks. Here in NY it is nearly $900 every 6 months (and thats for the lowest coverage, even if we get into an accident thats out fault, the insurance will only cover like $20,000. The car cost $6000, for the cost of insurance, we can afford to replace the car in about 3 years.

Instead of insurance, a better solution is to just have a certain amount that you deposit into an account every few months and that will go towards covering any expenses from an accident that is your fault. And if you never get into an accident and decide you no longer need a car, you withdraw all of the money and spend it on what ever you want.

It seems to me that nearly every show contradicts the very essence of its being; "free talk live" should be called "free talk live for those who agree with us."  I am a far left liberal, but I do not appreciate the sarcasm and judgements of the talk show hosts.  A good example of this was when a man called in and discussed an issue of importance to him; he even presented 59 pages of evidence he pulled together.  As soon as he was off the air, the sardonic comment of one of the hosts - insulting the man's effort by commenting on how the host wouldn't put forth the effort of 59 pages.  Activists are drawn to specific areas of interests - and they become experts on those issues, like the man and his 59 pages.  The comment made by the host (I don't know his name, but he is frequently the individual who does this the most).  I like to hear from these types of people - even if the topic is one that the hosts do not consider worthy or important.

Time and again the primary host (male, don't know his name) tends to be dismissive of those who call up and have a completely different point of view.  I like to hear from those who have different opinions, even those who are far right conservative.  Otherwise how can we learn about how and why these people think like they do.  But not on this show, if someone calls in and presents the opposite side they are treated much like liberals are treated by Rush Limbaugh.  Let them speak.  Live up to the name of the show, ask questions of them so we can see where they're coming from.  Be polite, stop interrupting them and talking over them.  Let the listeners receive true "free talk."  No doubt a liberal will call in and refute what was said, but if you stop them from saying what they want, there is no real free talk.  The host that is the most sarcastic and rude needs to just stop talking and let others say what they will.  Discuss it after the call, but not with the undue sarcasm that usually follows a caller with a different opinion.  Why do you think your opinion is the right one; you don't represent all liberals.

Ask the listeners for more opinions.  Let the show be a learning experience, not a shouting match where the host has the option to hang up and get his way.  This type of behavior is immature and unbecoming.  Let the callers be in control of the direction of the show, without hindering those with whom you disagree.  Please at least try it.  Shut up.  Listen.  Let us listen.

I received an email from the 'hostmaster' who tells me not to freak out about how he does his thing.  In the message he addressed the issue I brought up, writing, "My guess is that the reason the 59 page document got dismissed is because it is ineffectual. Writing a 59 page letter is not going to change a thing..."  Really?  Did this man say it was a 'letter?'  No, YOU DID.  It was HIS issue and it was important to him.  Did you even listen to him?  I went back through the entire podcast of this show and that conversation was not there anymore.  Wow!  Your response is indicative of your inability to have a decent conversation with someone with whom you disagree.  I am guilty of sending the web-address of your show to many of my liberal friends; one by one I have heard back from many saying there is more arguing from the 'hostmaster' than there is discussion.  Case in point: in the same podcast you talked over and interrupted "Helen" the socialist.  In this so-called "free talk live" discussion you asked Helen to define socialism, and before she could answer you were raising your voice, yelling questions at her.  I wanted to hear what Helen had to say, I'm sick to death of listening to what you have to say.  I wanted to hear Helen's definition.

What you said to me in your email message is total hypocrisy, "A true liberal would be open-minded before jumping to a rash judgment. That's why we're liberals. We crave fairness."  REALLY?  Then why do you disallow any type of talk that goes against what YOU think?  I don't see you craving fairness with those who disagree!  All you do is act like Rush Limbaugh in liberal's clothing.  Apparently many aspects of your message are copy-pasted because you don't even listen to your own words.  All you and your co-hosts do is judge harshly those who don't come across as completely agreeing.  My definition of a liberal is one who wants to know all sides of issues, even those - especially those - that oppose my liberal view.  Your show does NONE OF THAT.

Lastly, in your email message to me you also said, "The point of the show is to get us to move to New Hampshire."  Do you represent the type of people who have come to NH?  I hope not!  Why would anyone join a group of people who cannot handle any type of disagreement and who react with shouting down, mocking, and dismissing those who think differently.  What kind of society is that?

How you handle your show, and what you said in your letter, are evidence of your arrogance and condescending way of being.  You ill-represent those who truly "crave fairness!"

"Free talk live - except for those who disagree with the 'hostmaster'."

Future listeners, don't call in to the show if you are going to express any type of disagreement.  The "Rush Limbaugh in sheep's clothing" hostmaster will make sure the listeners hear NOTHING from you.  You will be shouted down, and when the conversation is over, you will be publicly mocked.  So much for "free talk live."
